Since I wrote yesterday much has happened. I've got lots to write about. Here are the details of going to school to visit my mom and brother.
So I drove my mom and Mikey to school in the morning. They had a half day so I had a quiet morning to myself. Around 11 I drove back to the school and had lunch with Mikey and his class.
The school was really nice. It was strange being in a school as an adult. I visited the office and got a visitor's pass. Everyone had heard lots about me from my mother. Mikey was quiet during lunch but his friends were very chatty. It was a little overwhelming being surrounded by six year olds. They were asking me if I was in high school. One kid told me a weird story about someone getting struck by lightning because of the bar I have in my ear. A little weird... lol.
After lunch I hung out in my mom's classroom. She teaches fifth grade. She was doing a reading group with a handful of kids. They were talking about the book The Time Machine by H.G. Wells. I told them I'd read it in college which they thought was cool. The kids were really smart and I was really impressed with the discussion. I don't think I was that advanced in fifth grade.
In the afternoon we came home and had a quiet time at home. We played lots of Nintendo Wii. Mikey and I spent all afternoon playing Super Mario Galaxy (big surprise, right?) and hanging out. Dinner was left over Chinese food and we watched lots of tv.
