Right now I'm sitting in my mom's kitchen typing on my laptop. Mom is sitting next to me on her laptop playing with my iPod. I'm visiting for Thanksgiving. I arrived here in Kansas yesterday...
So the flight was uneventful. The airport was really crowded, and Southwest has this new boarding method that was way too complicated. I got a seat in the back and had the whole row to myself. I watched a movie on the iPod and had the worst airplane peanuts. (How do you mess up honey roasted peanuts?)
Its been eight years since I've been to Kansas. My mom lives in the same house so I recognized some of the streets as we're driving. But mostly I just zoned out and absorbed the country side. It reminded me a lot of my trips to Ohio. We saw a deer on the side of the road and discussed the wild life. I'm definitely a city boy but I can feel myself slowing down to appreciate the slower pace of life. :)
We had something called BBQ for dinner. lol. (kidding!) It was Kansas City BBQ at a place that also sold gas. When the four of us, Mom, her husband, six year old brother Mikey and I, are out its funny how people react. Mom's husband Don is only six years older than I am. After all this time its nothing bad, just amusing. :)
After coming home we played Wii. We spent all night playing Super Mario Galaxy. I brought it with me. The game totally owns me, its really fun. I got a kick out of laughing at... er.. I mean laughing with my Mom. She kept falling into the black hole. We were literally falling off the couch laughing.
This morning is calm and easy. We've been geeking out. Mom and I both have blackberry cell phones and she wants an iPod Touch like mine. I brought my laptop so I've been snapping pictures with the built in camera...
p.s. Here is a link to my mom's blog post. :)
