Tonight I did something new. I went out to The Paper Heart Gallery and heard some live music and spoken word poetry. I went with a big group of people and had a great time. I heard some really good poets and met some very creative people.
( I find being around creative people inspiring, it charges me up and makes me more creative )
I read a short piece that I found in my journal. Its about Marcy...
The Flood
It was hard until I decided to walk away
It was a lie until I learned to get away
That woman like poison, like a snake
I let her strik and bite all the same
It was hard to live thru the pain
I lived for the good that we share
But like a painting with too many hues and shades
I had to walk away for someone that cares
And like a flower thats fading
What this was can't last
And like a river thats flooded
my course is moving too fast
It was hard when she called back
It was hard when I went back
It was hard wehn I left again
And it was hard to stop looking back
The memories fade, sadness lasts
But the venom runs through both sides
What we had both good and bad
I can't have her without the lies
And like a flower thats faded
What this was won't remain
I'm like a field of rice
growing taller after all the rains.
